If you have chosen to manifest wealth or a satisfying career then as well as your Solar Plexus, it could be worth spending some time working with your Root Chakra as well.
The Root Chakra is the first, and is located at our groin or base of the spine. It is our home, where we feel safe and secure. Whilst all seven Chakras are just as important in bringing balance and well-being to our life, the Root Chakra is the one that keeps us most secure. If our roots aren’t strong then our branches won’t grow high enough to reach the sun. A strong Root Chakra makes you feel safe, supported and comforted in your own skin. When we are able to meet our own basic needs for security, we are able to expand and grow. When this space is blocked, you may start to live in a constant state of lack, even becoming a little selfish, staying stuck in a fearful space, and feeling insecure in every choice and step you make.
You may have received blocks or limiting beliefs surrounding security, safety, money and the home from being young, so it is worth spending some time reflecting upon this to see if there is anything you need to start unpacking in these regards to help you clear the way for your manifestation. As yourself these questions:
What did I learn about money when I was a child?
How did the people who raised me deal with money?
Did I always feel safe and secure at the place(s) I called home?
Spend some time thinking upon these questions, and whether you can start undoing some of these limiting beliefs if you feel you have picked any up throughout your life. This can be done through reprogramming by listening to positive affirmations, Inner Child healing, or even just the acknowledgement that these beliefs are no longer relevant or helpful to you.
Ways to balance your Root Chakra
Eating root vegetables: this is a great way to ground your body, give it sustenance and connect it to foods which grow in the depths of the Earth. A real connection to the element of Earth will help assert safety, protection and vitality, so try eating more potatoes, parsnips, turnips, onions, carrots and any other root vegetables.
Walk barefoot on the Earth: Another grounding activity which will connect you to the Earth is, making sure you are safe to walk barefoot first, pushing your toes into grass, sand, dirt, or any natural Earth to bring some love and security to your Root Chakra. To add to this, visualise roots extending from your feet into the Earth, anchoring you and providing a sense of stability. You can also use grounding Crystals, such as hematite or red jasper, by holding them in your hand or placing them near your Root Chakra during meditation.
Exercise: Any regular movement can help you release stagnant energy, and promote a sense of stability. Yoga is a good way to engage with your physical body on a gentle and more grounding level. Try whatever level or branch of Yoga takes your interest - don’t worry about perfection or getting it "right," and just allow the body to move freely.
Explore the color red: this is the colour associated with the Root. Surround yourself with this color through clothing, décor, the foods you eat, or as visualisations during meditation.
Practice affirmations: repeat positive affirmations related to safety, security, and grounding such as, "I am safe and protected," "I am grounded and rooted," or "I trust in the process of life."
Establish a daily routine: creating structure and stability in your daily life can help balance the Root Chakra. Establish consistent sleep patterns, meal times, and self-care rituals to aid this.
Address safety concerns: if you have unresolved safety concerns or traumas seek professional help, such as therapy or counseling, to work through them. Healing past wounds can contribute to a more balanced Root Chakra. You can also do this on a more practical level such as opening a savings account, taking out insurance, making your home more secure, or finding advice about how to clear debt.
Practice self-care: engage in activities that promote self-care and self-nurturing. This can include taking warm baths, receiving massages, practicing mindfulness, or engaging in hobbies that bring you joy and relaxation. Most importantly it is giving yourself those things that make you feel safe and comforted, that perhaps you haven't always received frm others. Not only is this a kindness to yourself, but it reaffirms that you are now safe and no longer need to depend upon those reactions, thoughts, habits or behaviours that you once needed for survival.
Grateful for the reflection questions you have presented here. I have not often worked on this particular Chakra and I do believe it is time. Thank you <3
Ok, so now I am feeling like all my chakras are out of whack! And I try to do a lot of the things that balance the root. I think making time for my own self care needs is a major one for me as I do leave it until it drops off my to do list. Thank you for these reminders xx
